How do I uninstall the OpdiTracker software?
Note:
Before you uninstall OpdiTracker, it is recommended that you back up the database first. (See the online help for instructions.)
- From the Windows Start button, select Run, and then type D:\setup.exe (where D is your computer's CD-ROM drive letter).
- Select the Remove option, and then continue the installation process as usual to uninstall the OpdiTracker files, folders and registry entries.
How do I network the software and have the unit accessed by more than one user?
There is no function to network or share a Disc Stakka CD & DVD Manager unit at this time.
While is may be possible to share the database, it is not supported nor recommended because it could cause conflicts between remote and local users.
If you want to transfer the unit between computers (for example, between office and home), you can use the Database options in the Maintenance Wizard to back up and restore your OpdiTracker database.
What can be customized during the installation of OpdiTracker?
You have the option to install either the HTML or Flash versions of the online help, or both, or neither (although neither is not recommended). Japanese customers also have the ability to remove support for the CCD.
To change the installed components after initial installation
- Insert the OpdiTracker CD into your computer's CD or DVD drive.
- From the Windows Start button, select Run, and then type D:\setup.exe (where D is the drive in which you inserted the OpdiTracker CD).
- Select the Modify option, and then select or deselect the components you want to change. Then continue with the installation process as usual.
Why did nothing happen when I put the OpdiTracker installation disc into my computer's CD drive?
Check to make sure that you inserted the correct disc and that it is facing the right way in your drive. Then from the Windows Start button, select Run, and then type D:\setup.exe (where D is your computer's CD-ROM drive letter).
If this does not fix your problem, the installation disc might be faulty. Return the Disc Stakka to your place of purchase.
I am replacing my old computer and need to install the software on a new computer. How do I keep my database?
Is it straightforward to transfer the database from one computer to another:
- Use the OpdiTracker Maintenance Wizard to back up a database on the existing computer.
- Install the software on the new computer, and run any updates required to make sure that the version of the software is the same on both the new and old computers.
- On the new computer, use the OpdiTracker Maintenance Wizard to restore a database, and load your backed up database onto the new computer.
- Connect the Disc Stakka units to the new computer, and make sure that the units are recognized by the OpdiTracker software. It's also a good idea to verify your units whenever you move them from one computer (or system) to another.
I had to format my hard drive and reinstall the OpdiTracker software. Can I get my data back?
If you have backed up your entire system recently, the best solution is to retrieve and restore this backup. This allows you to return the system to the same state as it was at the time of the last backup. Follow the instructions of your backup application to restore all files from the backup.
If you have a backup of the OpdiTracker database, you can restore this using the OpdiTracker Maintenance Wizard. Run any updates required to make sure that the version of the software is the same as it was at the time of the last backup. Then restore the database to your system. See the online help for instructions.
Note:
If you have made changes to contents of the database (for example modified Properties or inserted or ejected discs), these may be lost. It is recommended that you verify your disc titles before using your system again.
Can I use Disc Stakka with an Apple Mac system?
YES. You can use Disc Stakka and OpdiTracker on Mac OS X (version 10.1 or higher).
